The way that Apple made its way to being the largest corporation in America during 2012 was the product of the brilliance and forcefulness of Steve Jobs. His gift was the ability to motivate by demanding excellence. Everyone who worked near or with him, knew that to fail in what you delivered would be met with derision and a severe calling out. He led by imagining things that people didn't know they wanted and then driving his staff to produce them. That has been well discussed and documented.
