As the fiscal cliff drama unfolds, President Barack Obama appears resolved to stay his ground. Speaking a few hours after House Speaker Boehner said he was optimistic a deal could be reached, Obama said he expects a solution before Christmas, adding that both parties already agree that taxes on those earning less than $250,000 shouldn’t go up next year. The Dow, which had reversed a 100 point drop, fell marginally on the President’s speech and rebounded as he finished his remarks. |
