A bankruptcy judge’s ruling yesterday freeing Sabine Oil & Gas from expensive gas-gathering contracts wasn’t just a defeat for the midstream pipeline industry. It was a defeat for the efficient-market theory, since midstream master limited partnerships plunged after news of the ruling came out yesterday afternoon, even though her decision could hardly have come as a surprise to anyone who read my coverage or any of the other articles predicting how she’d rule. |
