With Nokia's Friends Like Microsoft and ATT Who Needs Enemies?

It's 3 years since Stephen Elop joined Nokia, the same time it takes to develop a first class mobile device. The many fruits of Nokia's labors are now coming to fruition. Not a moment too soon, it seems as Q2 2013 results were dreary across the board. With partners like ATT who barely supported the Lumia 920 and Microsoft which just wrote off $900 million worth of Surface tablets based on the same Windows 8 platform Elop chose to lead NOK out of the wilderness, it hasn't been easy. At least Elop acknowledged a "sense of urgency" on his earnings conference call. It helps to have good product to sell and now they do and to know however hard you have worked, you are not yet in the promised land.
