For the last five years, US Treasuries have yielded spectacular returns to investors who have been on the long side of the market. Ishares Barclays 20+ Year Treasury Bond (NYSE:TLT) is up close to 58 percent compared to 5 percent for the S&P500 (NYSE:SPY), 34 percent for NASDAQ (NASDAQ:QQQ). Bonds, however, have been lagging behind gold (NYSE:GLD), and Silver (NYSE:SLV), which have doubled over the said period. |
