U.S. Economy Is Five Years Into Its Own Lost Decade As Recession Appears Unavoidable

The U.S. economy continues to muddle through, barely moving faster than a slug.  With growth in the second quarter at meager 1.3%, avoiding a Japanese-style lost decade might be impossible for the U.S., despite Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke’s continued efforts to ease monetary policy and jumpstart the economy.
