As a young economist I eagerly attended all speeches given by Federal Reserve officials. Like my fellow audience members, I was hoping to get the inside dope on what the Fed would do in the coming months. I always left disappointed. It turns out, there was nothing wrong with what the Fed people were saying; what was wrong was my own view of Federal Reserve policy. |
