Not to long ago, investors looking for high yield corporate debt had to turn to the U.S. They were the biggest, if not only game in town. Nearly 80% of a typical high yield bond portfolio was made up of U.S. corporates and just 11% were from non-U.S. issuers back in 1997. That's changing year over year. The new high yield markets are in the developing economies and even Europe as mid-cap companies struggle to get financing and are turning to bond lords for loans. |
