Equities skidded to a third straight day of losses in New York Wednesday after early gains evaporated. A week light on economic data and smack in the barren desert of corporate reports between earnings seasons has proven to be tough sledding for a market left to stew on whether central banks like the Federal Reserve and Bank of Japan will add more fuel to the fire or turn down the flame.
