President Barack Obama gave his first press conference of 2012 Tuesday where he said there’s still time to solve the Iran nuclear dilemma diplomatically. When asked if higher oil prices supported his push for green energy, Obama laughed, noting no U.S. president going into an election would ever want higher oil prices. Pushing for an “all-of-the-above” strategy, Obama recognized supply-side issues in oil markets but failed to mention the effect of a weaker dollar and ultra-loose monetary policy on global demand.
