Novel Set in Appalachia Brings Readers Into Thrilling Crime Story About a Pediatrician Who Must Prove His Innocence.

(1888PressRelease) Today, author Paul Janson announces the release of his first novel, Mal Practice, a mystery of medicine and murder. It tells the tale of Joe Nelson, a pediatrician living in the Appalachian mountains of eastern Kentucky. The book would make a great summer read for mystery lovers and those who would like to escape into the world of a doctor turned super sleuth.

Joe is being sued for malpractice in connection with the death of a four-year-old girl. The child was the niece of the wealthiest man in town, and the trial isn't going well. Then it gets worse. While Joe is sitting in his car outside his lawyer's office, someone shoots at him, and the police seem convinced that he has faked the shooting, especially since the shot was fired with his own gun. The next day in court, Joe realizes that his patient's death was not an accident or malpractice - it was murder. When one of the plaintiffs is murdered, Joe becomes the prime suspect. He must use all of his medical knowledge and deductive reasoning to solve the crime and save his own life.

Irv Danesh, MD, author and writer for the USA networks hit show Royal Pains writes, "Mal Practice is a real page-turner and will be enjoyed by readers who love medical settings and police thrillers."

The suspenseful tale is a fast-paced mystery that readers won't want to put down. Mal Practice is available in both paperback and Kindle versions from Amazon and SDP Publishing Solutions.
