In its statement Tuesday, the Federal Reserve explicitly targeted mid-2013 for its first increase to the benchmark federal funds rate from its current historic lows. Three members of the policy-setting Federal Open Market Committee dissented from the decision and one, Minneapolis Fed President Narayana Kocherlakota, decided to explain why. |
