Is Brazil's Sharp Rate Cut Forecasting Recession?

The market was expecting Brazil to cut its benchmark interest rate from 12.5% in the third quarter, but no one was expecting the Central Bank's monetary policy committee, Copom, to make a 50 basis point cut like they did on Wednesday.
