General Electric, a conglomerate that once counted NBC Universal and Enron Wind Assets as two of its businesses, just got one step closer to the simpler, more streamlined GE that company execs have been promising: the company announced Monday morning that it struck a $3 billion deal to sell its appliances business to Swedish multinational Electrolux. |
