Fed Says Economy Is Improving

The Federal Reserve released the minutes from its January Federal Open Market Committee meeting Wednesday. The committee used the familiar language in its statement about the health of the U.S. economy, saying economic recovery is continuing, "though at a rate that has been insufficient to bring about a significant improvement in labor market conditions." The minutes revealed that the Fed said the recovery is on "firmer footing," in light of increased household spending, and activity in the business sector.
