Europe Beefs Up Firewall To Almost $1T As Spain Unveils Austerity

Europe made headlines again on Friday as Spain unveiled a new budget that included massive spending cuts amid widespread protests. At the same time, European finance ministers meet in Copenhagen to announce they were expanding their emergency firewall to ?700 billion ($932 billion) by temporarily combining the EFSF and the ESM.  The news helped calm markets, with all major European indices closing the day in positive territory, with the exception of Greece.
