Ambrose Evans-Pritchard is one of the best columnists on the global macro and finance beat, consistently writing compelling analysis that, unlike the vast majority of commentary, doesn't neatly line up with the ideological priors of a particular "team." His views on the Greek crisis, in particular, seem to have been quite prescient, and he has been justifiably withering in his criticisms of the European Union in general and Germany in particular. He's capable of setting the conversation in a way that few other writers are.
