Corporate Bond Issuance Tops $23B; Biggest Weekly Total Since May |

Dealers plied more than $6.5 billion of new high-grade deals today from seven issuers, raising the week’s total to more than $23 billion. That’s already the most in a single week dating to mid-May, when underlying rates spiked higher. At the same time, short-term debt levels plunged again this week, extending a sharp decline that started last month as new-issue volume roused strongly on the heels of a brutal June. |
