Clear Channel parent CC Media on Sunday named MTV founder and one-time AOL chief Robert Pittman as the company's chief executive, in a move that is likely to spur speculation that the radio and billboard giant could eventually attempt to tap the equity market as a way to reduce its heavy debt burden. He replaces long-time Clear Channel CEO Mark Mays, who stepped down in May 2010. |
