Normally I Series Saving Bonds and Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (TIPS), are seen as defensive investments. They are both inflation protected bonds which are designed to keep inflation from chipping away at your nest egg. However, we are in an unusual period of time. I believe that a conservative investor looking for a place to store cash and actually earn a decent return, might consider inflation protected bonds such as the i Series Savings Bonds. |
